Roblox - A Revolution

The online gaming platform - Roblox has surpassed more monthly players than Minecraft, a glorious achievement, but what makes Roblox so special that it invites over 56 million players onto its site every month? Let's start simple and first understand what Roblox is all about.

What is Roblox?

Roblox is an online game in which each player is given a unique avatar. Players can play an enormous volume of games which give Roblox on huge advantage, against other games. Installing the Roblox client gives the player access to virtually every type of game. Another advantage is that client download is very small(about 2 MB), this beats downloading shooters like Fortnite where each update is a few gigabytes. 

Who makes all the games?

Most of the content in Roblox is community-made, which means that the players themselves make the abundance in content Roblox has. But, obviously, this results in very few quality games in the vast ocean of Roblox. However, being a successful Roblox game dev does pay.

Currency in Roblox

Roblox has an in-game currency Robux which must be bought by players using real-world money. Roblox also pays its content creators with Robux which can be exchanged for real-world cash. 

Is Roblox perfect?

 Given, the strengths which Roblox has. It has several flaws. Being a children's game, Roblox has had trouble dealing with scams, cyberbullying and ODers. Most games give a huge emphasis on spending Robux. 

All in all, games like Roblox deserve an increase in attention in the gaming community.
